Biarritz
| Biarrtiz is clearly a resort town, complete with a downtown strip, glitzy hotels facing out over the beach, plazas and restaurants galore. Luckily, we visited during low season, and as a result were able to experience its charm and beauty without the hordes of angry tourists in the way. It did make it hard to find a restaurant at 10pm, though--we ended up having to eat a French chef's interpretation of Italian food (lasagna with ham and swiss instead of beef and mozarella--yuck). |
