Entering Orange
Orange is an ancient Provencal town in the Southern Rhone, between Rasteau and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. It's known primarily for its Roman ruins. We stopped on the way down to Aix-en-Provence (where we had another delicious meal, this time true Provencal food at Les Bacchanales--artichokes in an indescribably-wonderful herby broth, baby octopus-stuffed squash blossoms, and an excellent red Bandol), with an eventual destination of Bandol and the Mediterranean. |
